Skawak is a newly built one-bedroom jungle house on stilts inside the 506 community in Nosara, next to the tennis center, with 24-hour security and a pool you can use. The setup is simple and right: one bedroom, one bathroom, a real kitchen, air conditioning for the hot Guanacaste nights, and trees all around full of howler monkeys that will function as your alarm clock. Playa Guiones — the long, consistent beginner-to-intermediate surf beach that made Nosara famous — is four minutes by car or a 25-minute walk, and the Bodhi Tree and other yoga spots are close by. Nosara's roads are dusty washboard in dry season and muddy in green season, so most people rent an ATV or small 4x4. Good fit for a surf-and-yoga couple who want jungle sounds at night but a short hop to coffee, beach and town.
